Halloween is almost here and it's time to get out the halloween tarot decks. Here are some tarot decks that are Halloween and Gothic themed that work amazingly as Halloween tarot decks.

Jack-o-Lantern Tarot Deck

Colorful and full of pumpkins, this deck follows the RWS structure, but all of the heads of the ‘people’ are pumpkins. The back of the deck features a pumpkin patch theme. This deck is great for not just Halloween, but for all of fall. Who doesn’t love pumpkin spice?

Dark Grimoire Tarot by Lo Scarabeo

This deck is full of creatures that go bump in the night. The landscape of the cards don’t seem to be welcoming. But this creates a storyline for when magick was needed to survive. When you had to tap into otherworldly powers or perish.

Deviant Moon Tarot by Patrick Valenza

I fell this one is a bit on the macabre side, but also something that can be used all year long. There are no “Halloween” themed cards in the deck, but the overall theme of the deck does fit in with the creepy aspect of Halloween.

DarkSide Skeleton Tarot Deck

This deck features skeletons as the people in the RWS structured deck. It comes in 3 different variations, standard, premium, and foil. The standard edition comes as black and white cards with an electronic booklet, whereas the premium edition comes on silver foil and plastic cards. The booklet with the premium edition is also a workbook as well as a LWB. The foil edition is the middle ground. The front of the card is printed on silver foil while the back of the card is printed on white paper. The booklet with the foil edition is just a LWB.

Favole Tarot Cards by Lo Scarabeo

This deck is a gothic styled deck. The artwork is inspired by other artists like Anne Rice (Interview with a Vampire- anyone?), and H.P. Lovecaft. The scenic artwork is limited to the major arcana and the minor arcana are images of the suit representative (roses, masks, butterflies and crosses represent the four typical suits). This may make this deck a bit harder to read with if you are heavily dependent on the imagery in the card to spark your intuition (nothing wrong with that- BTW).

Tarot of Vampyres by Ian Daniels

This is a gothic romance styled deck- with a focus on spiritual awakening. The suits are renamed to Scepters, Grails, Knives and Skulls to fit the theme. But I am happy to report that the guidebook is 312 pages- meaning it’s not a small pamphlet in the box!!

Dark Angels Tarot by Lo Scarabeo

This is a dark theme angel deck and the reviews are mixed. People either love this deck or hate it. I find the imagery to be similar to that of the Mystical Dreamer Tarot- but dark. One thing that I wasn’t a big fan of was the lack of contrast of the number/suit of the card on the border. It’s kinda hard to see. For me, I like the name/number to be distinct and obvious for a quick glance to get my intuition going before I get into the imagery.

Anne Stokes Gothic Tarot by Heraclio Fournier

This is a gothic theme deck- with fairies, dragons and unicorns. Each image is enclosed in a boarder that looks like a metal frame. This makes me think of game cards (i.e. pokemon, Magic the Gathering, etc). But that’s not a bad thing, considering a lot of Anne Stokes art is features in a role playing game, Dungeons & Dragons. I think it gives the cards a more archaic look, more like a Merlin era deck.

Halloween Tarot by Kipling West

This is probably the deck that caused you to click on this post. It’s all over social media around this time of year and seems to sell out quickly- no wonder. This deck features pumpkins, ghosts, imps and bats that’s super fun. I linked the Tarot in a Tin version because it was the only one still available- but word of warning- this deck is only slightly bigger than a standard deck of playing cards. The original deck is larger than the one in the tin.

Classic Horror Oracle

If you love horror movies, then this oracle deck might just be your favorite thing for spooky season. It has 50 cards illustrated like movie posters and the guidance is based on iconic horror movies.

Trick or Treat Tarot

This tarot deck is by the bestselling Barbara Moore, so you know that you are getting a well-rounded deck. It comes with a full-size companion booklet. The cards themselves are fun designs that show us the best parts of Halloween- the costumes!

Nightmare Before Christmas Tarot Deck

This deck is for those of us who were around in the 90’s. The Nightmare Before Christmas is a cult classic movie and an amazing tarot deck. Fully colored with a lot of fun images from the movie, if you love the movie, you will surely love the deck.

Ghoulish Garb’s Terror Tarot (Major’s Only)

This deck features our favorite Horror movie characters, Frankenstein, Dracula, and the Headless Horseman to name a few. But this is a majors only deck, which means that this deck is only 22 cards, not 78.

Hocus Pocus Tarot Deck

If you LOVE the Hocus Pocus movies and are okay with the Disney edition, this deck can be a fun addition to your Halloween tarot deck pile. All of the cards are based on the Disney version of the movie, but bring a bit of fun to your readings.
